As the topic says- pollution fears & money struggles are the daily problems here in Delhi, India. The country is literally out of money because of the sudden change of the bills & you have extreme luck if you manage to get some from the ATMs…
Compare the photos of our view from the balcony to one another- you’d be blind if you cannot tell which one is the one showing today’s pollution. That’s a huge difference. Horrible, right?
Today I started the morning with walking at the treadmill in the gym, for half an hour. I then got ready & did a little bit of studying (math!), before mom & I went to have brunch with people from a group called “Gurgaon Connection”. That’s basically a group of expats, all adults living in Gurgaon, who meets & do fun activities together. We met nice people & had a good time, before heading to Delhi & to physio.
I did physio for an hour, I felt really good & I am happy with the progress of my back, at the moment. We had lunch at school, where I met other friends. When my siblings finished, we picked them up and went home. This evening I’ve been studying with my sister. ❤
This was my day, I hope yours was a good one. Good night!
My family and I had the absolute best hours spent together by the sea, yesterday morning. We swam in the wonderful sea, soaked in the vitamin D, took funny photos & did paddle boarding again. It was so much fun! We left the hotel around 12ish & the 3.5 hours flight went all good. We got home around 9 in the evening. I took a little time unpacking, then we had some kind of dinner before we went to bed.
I didn’t set an alarm this morning, since I really didn’t have anything specific to wake up to. Anyways, I woke up around 20 past eight, had breakfast & then hit the gym where I mixed walking & running for 20 Minutes. When done, I walked back to the apartment- which takes like 3 minutes, and countinued doing rehab & strengthening exercises at my room. I finished off with a little bit of pointe. Overall, I worked out for a bit more than 2 hours. It was such a good workout & I was DEAD afterwards. Happy news: my back pain is for the moment gone!! I am so happy about it, but at the same time I miss dancing more than ever.
After my workout, I spent the rest of the day studying, out on the balcony. I had a little break though, for lunch with mom.
The pollution is for the moment not bad at all (TOUCHWOOD). We’ve been told that the reason for this is because they forbid a big amount of money to prevent black+fake money. Therefore; bus drivers can’t be paid in black money, with other words- cannot work. Which means that the heavy traffic has decreased- the pollution levels don’t go up too high & you can even see the blue sky. The temperature is around 25 degrees, with other words- the weather’s perfect.
I hope your day was a good one. Tomorrow’s already Wednesday! 😊
I’ve had an absolutely amazing (and well needed) time here in Dubai, together with my family. The weather has been perfect- hot & sunny, with a clear blue skies & a blue sea with white sand. Everything perfect ❤
We spent the morning at the Mall of Emirates & after lunch, all the way until dinner- we were by the sea, tanning, playing volleyball, pingpong & swimming. We didn’t buy as much as we thought we would do at the mall, actually (surprise, surprise!), since Dubai is quite an expensive country. I was looking for the more pricer brands as well, like Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger & so on and since it is wayy cheaper in India- mom & I will spend some more hours in the malls there instead. Anyways, we still got a few things from Abercrombie & Fitch though. Out of the Dubai Mall & Mall of Emirates, I must say I prefer the second one. Both malls are HUGE & have loads loads loads of stores, somehow Mall of Emirates feels more organized & a bit easier to find the way around.
The dinner was eaten at a Seafood restaurant at the hotel. We had good drinks & delicious sushi, and other seafood dishes. Before, I did a good workout out on the balcony- with the amazing view of the beautiful skyline. Loved it!
We just finished packing everything for tomorrow. We’ll leave the hotel by lunch time, around 12, so the morning hours will definitely be spend by the sea- working on getting that last minute tan… Breathing in clean air & soaking in Vitamin D, before going back to polluted Delhi again…
I hope you all have had a great weekend. I certainly have. I wish you a good start of the new week & also- Glad första advent! ❤ ❤ ❤
Another good day has gone by. I love the heat, the weather, I love Dubai & I absolutely love being here with my family.
We basically spent all day by either the pools or the sea. In the afternoon, we did paddle boarding, which was so much fun! I’ve been wanting to do this for so long, and we finally did it. We all were actually really good at it, in the very beginning it was a tiny bit scary – but some minutes later we had already gotten in to doing it. It was easy & lots lots lots of fun!
I worked out for a little less than an hour in the afternoon, only strength. I always start with some basic warmup things, shoulder rolls, side bends, leg swings & such stuff to get the joints going and to get warm from the inside. Then I do series of exercises with either 3 or 5 sets each. For example push-up position twisting the body side to side- this I do for 1 min but in 5 sets, together with 1 min plank for 5 times as well. I also do leg dips, crunches, lunges, bridges, relevés & so it continues. My back pain is actually getting better now, for a week or so I didn’t see any progress in pain, but now I have less pain. For the moment, I don’t even have any “pain“, I just feel ‘something’. If you know what I mean… it’s not actually pain but still something, at least much better than before.
My family and I had an amazing dinner at a restaurant in a hotel. It’s situated in more of like the town of Dubai & not out on the palm, where we are staying. The restaurant was on the 52nd floor, with an amazing view!! It was incredible looking out at everything down below, how little & unimportant it seems. So pretty though. The food was delicious as well.
Tomorrow will be our last full day, here in Dubai. I already miss it! The plane departures around 3 in the afternoon on Monday. I am happy going back to Delhi though, to continue with physio again & to see my friends.
I hope you’re having a good weekend. Good night! ❤
The airport looks pretty, but it takes FOREVER getting in to the country
Arriving to Dubai was such a relief, to feel how the heat surrounded you, the smell of a tropical country & the view with all the palms everywhere. I love it!
The flight from Stockholm to Dubai was delayed with two hours & although this country is so ‘well-developed’ & high-tech, it always takes forever getting in to the city, at the airport. Anyways, the actual flight was all good. 6 hours went by rather fast, I fell asleep already before leaving the ground, but only for an hour, because then I spent the rest of the flight doing mathematics. My dad & and I got to the hotel around 3 o’clock in the morning. Tired as we were, we obviously went straight to bed.
I’ve had an amazing day today, with my family. We spent all morning & also some hours in the afternoon by the pools & by the sea (I prefer the sea!). It is a big hotel with lots of different pools & the sea is amazing. The weather is perfectly hot, around 30 Celsius degrees, but still not too hot. We’ve been here another time of the year before, when the temperature was like 40 degrees- that’s a little too hot.
In the afternoon we went to the Dubai Mall. I think that mall is said to be the biggest mall in the world, it’s huge! Almost a bit too big, as we tend to get lost many times. I absolutely love it though, shopping is the best! All the girls in the family, spent a long time in the Bath&Body works shop, definitely one of my favorite stores. If you’ve added me on snapchat- moaoaoaoa, you’ve already seen what a great amount of wonderful products we bought from there. I will wait until we leave Dubai, on Monday evening, to then post a big haul with everything we bought here. That was basically the only shop we had time to go to this evening, before we had booked a table at a restaurant opposite the water to Burj Khalifa, just next to the fountains.
The dinner was amazing, especially with watching the huge fountains that had a performance with music, light & all that stuff just next to us. Burj Khalifa, the highest building in the world, was having a performance of its own as well- it was lighted in all sorts of different colors. It was incredible watching all this, while eating a delicious dinner.
I hope you had a good Thanksgiving yesterday, if celebrating it. I am so thankful that I am here in Dubai right now & that I get the chance to travel as much as we do in our family.
